Mackenzie Happe is a friendly, outgoing journalist who just graduated from the University of Maryland. During her time there, she interned at NBC News Channel, Discovery Communications, and was part of a student documentary team that produced an award-winning piece on the heroin epidemic. Mackenzie has a passion for visual storytelling and giving a voice to people who have something to say.

While Mackenzie loves the fast-paced excitement of her journalism career, she likes to relax at any of the free museums in Washington D.C. Mackenzie’s passion for art began after her first visit to the National Gallery of Art and that’s when she decided to pick up art history as a second major in school.

Mackenzie is originally from Pittsburgh where she loves to eat sandwiches with french fries on them and take the T “dahntahn.” Mackenzie volunteers at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh and makes frequent trips to the museum when she isn’t volunteering. Although Mackenzie loves the DMV area, Pittsburgh will always have a special place in her heart.
